Stephanie Chappell   -   Artist Biography

Stephanie is based in Buckinghamshire just west of London.

She originally studied Graphic Design (Audio Visual Design) at

DeMonfort University (Leicester Polytechnic). Although Stephanie excelled in the areas of illustration, life drawing and painting, she chose to work professionally as a Senior Designer and Creative Director in television both at the BBC and Sky TV and with prominent agencies such as Lambie-Nairn and JellyLondon, over a period of 30 years.

She returned to her own practise of an artist after working for many years on visual conceptualisation and storyboard illustration - which she took most pleasure from as part of her TV profession. She instigated her passion for drawing and painting in 2016, starting with a 2 hour portrait drawing every day for 365 days. Since an exhibition for Bucks Art Week in 2017, Stephanie has expanded her portrait style to oil painting commissions and weekly live model practise. She also creates landscape painting in oils and animal sculpture in clay. She has featured in the Sky Portrait Artist of the Week several times and committed fully to the 3 series of 22 celebrity models painting weekly from her kitchen table and studio during the Covid lockdown. Stephanie is now building up her business to work as a full time contemporary artist.

Stephanie's art is a reflection of her passion for storytelling and her love for the intricacies of human emotion. Each piece she creates is a unique expression of her creative vision and her desire to connect with her audience on a deeper level. Her work has been featured in galleries and exhibitions across the UK, and she has gained a reputation for her ability to evoke powerful emotions through her art.
